The Tiki was an important figure to the Maori of New Zealand. It represented ancestors and would accompany them in important situations such as in meeting halls and battle. Some had protruding tongues, as this one, which meant "I'm going to eat your flesh after I've killed you". Don't mess with the Maori warrior.
