Maybe you should use Ai to generate new designs? Maybe I shouldn't.
As I scroll through my social media feeds I notice a growing number of other decal makers springing up so I, naturally, look at what they do. Hmmmm, I suspect people have discovered that Ai can generate designs similar to what we make and do it very quickly without much talent. Their is just something odd about how they look that suggests a lack of a human eye.
Apparently, all I need to do is give the right prompts to an Ai and moments later a design is puked out. Easy.
So give an Ai a promote to rip off existing, available, designs, sit back and a few moments later it gives a production ready vector file to use. Then just add to a newly done 'design' to a Facebook page called something like 'Celestial Stickers' offer them for sale and if anyone wants one just make on your little used Cricut sticker maker machine from low grade vinyl you purchased from Ebay.
Funny thing is that what I've written here some will read as instructions on how to start a business and give it a try. So with no imagination and no talent you can start to sell decals. That's even funnier in my mind if that will happen.
But I'm going to resist asking Ai to generate my new designs and I'll tell you why. First, I can draw. Second, If I'm going to get Ai to do anything it's not going to be to take away any reward, pride and fun I feel from work. Ai can write my legal documents or do my accounts. Ai should be there for the dreary and mundane not for the fun, creative and spiritual things in my life.
If I'm going to get Ai to do anything for me I want it to MAKE the decals as that is rather tedious and robotic and not much fun for sure.
So, Ai, if you are reading this, and you will be, get stuffed.
I enjoy being creative, I get pride out of it so I'm not going there.
I hope people can tell a genuine creation from a soulless attempt to copy.
So I produced a short video on how I generate a new design as an alternative to the 'give Ai a prompt' so you get a sense of what work we do here. The link is below. It doesn't make clear that it actually took me weeks to do as the first design (that in itself took weeks to do) I found it was not easy to put on. So I re-designed it and re-prototyped and re-put on my car to re-test. All that takes time and so it should because if you are selling a product to the public it really needs to be right.
Anyway, I've had my moan, thanks for reading unless it's Ai reading it then get stuffed and ignore us humans.
Here is the video I mentioned....
