What does Kismet mean? Well it refers to something being 'fate' or 'what will be will be'. 'It is written' maybe another way of thinking about it. It can be Gods will to those that focus on a higher power. For me, it allows me to concentrate on matters I can control and not to try to deal with fate or destiny; things that have already happened or I know are going to happen. Allow those things to be and move forwards. That's Kismet to me.
So if you are looking at your car with a nice big dent in it caused by a drunk driver...well that's 'kismet'.
